COMPROMISED CARD Q & A

Q. What does “compromised” mean?
A. Compromised means that unauthorized individuals gained access to account numbers, possibly for the intention of fraudulent activity.

Q. Was this due to some action of mine?
A. The fact that the card has been compromised has nothing to do with anything that you have done. The only reason why it happened to you is because you used your card at this specific merchant.

Q. Can you tell me which merchant caused my personal information to be compromised?
A. When Team One was notified that some of our members' credit cards had been compromised; the name of the merchant involved was not disclosed.

Q. Why is my card being re-issued?
A. A new card with a different number is being issued to prevent any fraudulent activity that may take place in the future due to the account "compromise". This does not necessarily mean that fraudulent activity has already taken place.

Q. What steps are being taken to safeguard my credit card?
A. As part of Team Ones "Privacy Policy", we do not disclose any personal information to unauthorized individuals. Visa has their own fraud prevention measures in place to help guard against fraudulent activity.

Q. How does the merchant know what and whose information was taken?
A. Visa is notified that fraudulent activity has taken place and then they notify us that some of our members' cards have been compromised.

Q. Should I be worried?
A. You should not be worried because your card is being blocked, and if any fraudulent activity takes place on your account due to the compromise, you will not be liable.

Q. How can I prevent this in the future?
A. New safe guards against credit card fraud are being instituted every day, but unfortunately it can't be completely prevented.

Q. How will I know if a fraudulent transaction occurs?
A. It is always smart to monitor the activity on all of your accounts regularly. If you notice any suspicious transactions, please notify Team One immediately.

Q. Why won’t you block my card immediately if you know that it has been compromised?
A. We will not block the card immediately because we don't want to inconvenience our members. The delay in blocking the card will allow any recent valid transactions to be processed and will allow time to switch any automatic payments to your new card.

Q. Am I the only one affected?
A. No, other people who used their card at that particular merchant at the same time you did have been affected as well.

Q. Have my other Team One accounts been compromised?
A. No, your other Team One accounts have a separate account number so they have not been compromised.
